Trader Joe’s Smoked Salmon

Trader Joe’s smoked salmon is a delicious and healthy way to eat fish that has been cured with an incredibly flavorful applewood smoke. It comes pre sliced and you can use a few slices at a time to put on a lox and bagel sandwich or just eat some right out of the package. It also is super easy to put some on a salad for added protein, with some citrusy dressing drizzled over the top. This TJs salmon also goes really well with their kettle boiled bagels and some Trader Joe’s cream cheese with onions and chives! As a bonus, this is lacking a lot of the artificial coloring that most national brands put in their smoked salmon………….

Smoked Salmon at Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s sells a few different varieties of smoked salmon, including ones without the Trader Joe’s name on it. I like this particular smoked salmon the best because it lacks the added color that some of the other varieties have in it. This also has the the best tasting applewood smoke flavor to it. It’s not overwhelming but adds a subtle background flavor to the salmon that goes perfectly on bagels and cream cheese or in salads.

How does everyone like to eat their TJs smoked salmon? Are there any delicious recipes that you add this to? A few times I’ve rolled up some cream cheese in the middle of a piece of this and served it as an appetizer. Smoked salmon is kind of the perfect appetizer since it seems fancy but requires almost no preparation. Don’t forget to try the Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel smoked salmon which is great if you like that ever popular seasoning! I also like these brands if you can’t make it to TJs in person….

  1. I purchased the Pastrami Style Smoked Salmon a few weeks ago. I can’t seem to find the expiration date on the package. It does have a TJ tag that reads “April 21”. Is that the expiration date? Thanks
