Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Flour, All Purpose

This Trader Joe’s gluten free flour is a good value, performs great as a regular flour substitute in recipes and baking, and comes in a 16 oz package. Gluten free flours can differ widely in both price and quality. It can be difficult to find reasonably priced gluten free flours without a bunch of junk added to it. If you make bread, cookies or anything else that calls for flour, this generally holds up pretty well. The taste, texture and appearance can be slightly different than regular flour if you haven’t cooked with this gf flour before. But TJs gluten free flour is a good substitute for flour overall, and performs well in things like pizza, chocolate chip cookies and focaccia bread!………….

If anyone has a favorite brand of gluten free flour I’d be super curious to know how it compares to this TJ’s version in terms of taste, texture and appearance! 1. Warning! There’s a new Trader Joe’s gf flour. It’s so bitter, it ruined my butter cookies. They’re putting millet in it now. The package is different from the pink one we’ve been buying for years. But there’s really no warning that the product has changed. Be warned!

    1. Millets are a really good source of fibre there is no fault in eating them. Completely super healthy.

  2. I agree. I loved the old kind in the pink bag. This new one is disgusting and leaves a foul aftertaste. I’ve never been so dissatisfied in a TJ’s product.

  3. Made a birthday cake with it today (the millet version). So gross. I am throwing out half the cake, which I have never ever done.

  4. I agree that it doesn’t taste very good and I don’t think it’s certified gluten-free. Don’t know why they say the flour is so dangerous to eat raw, either, but I was definitely not well the day after I made cake with this and have to throw out the other half, as well. :/ :/ :/
I looked online and it says the only flour not safe to eat raw is wheat flour, so…
    TJ’s, can you respond?
