Trader Joe’s Aloe Vera Juice, Organic Whole Leaf

This Trader Joe’s Aloe Vera Juice, made by Aloe Botanicals, has no added sugar, and tastes somewhat bitter. But you probably aren’t drinking this because it tastes great. While this does have lemon juice added to it, it really doesn’t have a great flavor. Some of the health claims made by aloe vera juice include joint health, immune system boost, digestive health and weight loss. I cant say I’ve ever drank this stuff regularly so I have no clue if those claims are true. One thing that is definitely true is that this is a great value compared to almost all other groceries that sell aloe vera juice. The Trader Joe’s aloe vera juice price of $7.99 per gallon is significantly less than places like Whole Foods or other local natural groceries. ………….

Aloe Vera Juice from Trader Joe’s

Aloe vera juice has a lot of antioxidants and Vitamin B, C and E. It also is cholesterol and fat free. I know some friends of mine that add fruit juice to aloe vera juice so that it’s a little more drinkable. Does anyone have any delicious recipes or combos they like to use with aloe vera juice? When I first tried this I was surprised by how bitter and sort of chemical tasting it was. Id’ imagine if you add enough delicious things like lemonade or apple juice, or other sweet drinks to this, it will negate the taste.

If anyone has a secret to how they take this on a daily basis and make it taste good, I would love to know! Keep in mind like most trendy things that Trader Joe’s carries they usually fade away at some point because all the health claims are not entirely proven. The great thing is at a minimum you’ll be getting a lot of vitamins and you wont be overpaying for it if you buy this by the gallon at TJs! And if you can’t make it to TJs, give these items a try…..

  1. Aloe vera juice works really well in a fruit smoothie. It helps all the fruit pieces of blend up easily into a nice thick, juicy conglomeration. Then I pour some of it on the sides of the blender to wash it down into the bottom, swish it all around and pour it into the glass. Makes it easy to get all of it out of the blender container.

  2. Does anyone know if the aloe vera juice can be frozen. I’d like to separate it into small containers and subsequently unfreeze 1-2 servings. Thank you.

    1. I’ve scraped the leaves of the aloe, put in blender added extra water, made into ice cubes. TJ’s aloe should work the same way.

  3. I find it best with tea. Boil water and make tea using the Trader Joe’s ginger turmeric or blood orange tea and leave some room, then add your aloe Vera juice in. Add in a squeeze of lemon juice and it’s much more tolerable!

  4. Aloe vera juice pictured above is actually only 1.5% aloe vera juice with a lesser amount of lemon juice concentrate, the rest is filtered tap water. Not worth $9.99 in my book. Knew something wasn’t right as soon as I tasted it.

      1. I have to agree with Mike, it can say 99% Aloe Vera Juice but what does that mean?

Its mostly purified water. The main ingredient is filtered water, meaning the total amount of “99% Aloe” is actually AT MOST 49% therefore he’s probably right… its probably a lot less than its making you think.

        1. I was wondering the same thing. How can they get 99% aloe Vera juice when the first ingredient is water? Since we know that the ingredients with lost volume are always listed first

  5. I put mine in a blender mixed with mint, pineapple, fresh lemon juice, raw honey and matcha powder! So delicious

  6. 2 oz is 59 ml. In 2 oz. of the juice there is 58 ml. of organic aloe vera whole leaf juice. I would say its pretty close to 100%. Do the math.

  7. Mike got the 1.5% from (58ml=0.0153gal)/1gal = 1.53%… which is just bad math. The denominator should be 59ml which corresponds to 1 serving size.
