Trader Joe’s Stuffed Gnocchi, Outside-In

This Trader Joe’s stuffed gnocchi is an amazingly flavorful frozen meal that puts the tomato sauce and cheese inside of the gnocchi instead of tossing it in the sauce and cheese. Appropriately, the official name for this is Trader Joe’s Outside In Stuffed Gnocchi. The little pillowy wheat flour balls of dough have mozzarella and sauce inside that combine for a really good flavor when you heat these up. You can either microwave them or put them in a skillet with some olive oil and crisp them up. The skillet version tastes better but of course it’s much more of a pain. However you cook them they are delicious as long as you don’t overcook it. They tend to get soggy and gross unless they remain basically al dente…….…….

Stuffed Gnocchi at Trader Joe’s

There are so many different gnocchis at Trader Joe’s now that half the time I change my mind which variety I want as I reach for the gnocchi. My all time favorites are the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina and the fairly new Cheese Filled Fiocchetti with Pink Sauce. Then of course there’s the Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Butter and Sage which is also rich and indulgent tasting. And on the healthier side there is the Trader Joe’s Kale Gnocchi and the Cauliflower Gnocchi. I’m starting to think that TJs might sell a lot of gnocchi, no matter what variety it comes in! What’s everyone’s favorite gnocchi at TJ’s?! I like to have around some Pecorino Romano or other delicious cheese to grate over the top of the stuffed gnocchi since it can be a tad dry sometimes because it’s not tossed in any sauce or cheese……
