This Trader Joe’s Melatonin comes in 3 mg capsules that are chewable and peppermint flavored, with 100 in each bottle. It’s recommended you take one about an hour before you go to bed to help with sleep issues. Melatonin is a hormone produced by the brain when it’s dark to help with regulating your circadian rhythm and sleep. A lot of people use this for sleep issues, jet lag and even for anxiety. As to how effective melatonin pills are in general, it’s difficult to say. There have been a lot of different studies and it doesn’t really seem like there has been any definitive conclusions. Peppermint Chewable Melatonin at Trader Joe’s
Trader Joe’s melatonin is one of many, many different dietary supplements at TJs. These little chewable tablets come in 3 mg doses which is less of a dose than a lot of national brands sell their melatonin. In terms of price, as always Trader Joe’s sells these capsules well below what most natural grocers do. These are made in Canada and have a few other ingredients other than melatonin like Lactose and Magnesium Stearate. Have people found melatonin to be helpful with sleep? Keep in mind that the packaging has changed a few times with Trader Joe’s melatonin so these can be difficult to spot next to all the other little white bottles in the health aisle.
