This Trader Joe’s pollo asado autentico version is really, really good. They’ve taken their carne asada beef version and converted it to chicken. The super bright and citrus flavors are prefect for fajitas or grilling. Lately I’ve just been baking it when I’m too lazy to grill or saute it. With a $5.49 per pound price, this should be one of your pre-marinated meat go to’s at TJ’s. In terms of the authenticity of the recipe and ingredients, I’m not sure. But it does taste delicious and saves a ton of time and effort having to put together a marinade or even marinate it yourself with a store bought one. All the work has been done for you, and the ingredients are fairly straightforward and healthy. I know a lot of people like to get their pollo asado or carne asada at their local carniceria, but sometimes this is a nice option for convenience when you’re already at TJ’s…….…….
- 130 Calories per serving (usually about 4 servings per package)
- Perfect for fajitas or grilling or baking…
- Great variation on the Trader Joe’s carne asada
Trader Joe’s Pollo Asado Autentico
I grill a huge percentage of my meals and like to marinate the meats I use myself, but products like this always give me second thought on whether I should just be buying already deliciously marinated meat and chicken like this! Make sure you have some cheese and lettuce and pico de gallo so you can create an amazing dish with the pollo asado. Let me know any good pollo asado recipes or foods to pair this with. I’m sure everyone has come up with creative ways to use this meat since it tastes good with practically any side dish……
