This Trader Joe’s pepita salsa is a deliciously savory and slightly peppery salsa made from pumpkin seeds, otherwise known as pepitas. This is more on the mild side in terms of heat, but has a really unique thick and nutty taste to it, mixed with the peppers, onions and tomatoes. Roasted pumpkin seeds, or pepitas, give this Pepita salsa a really great texture and flavor that you don’t taste in regular old salsas. I’m not sure where TJs found this idea to grind up pumpkin seeds to make salsa, but it definitely works! It also has a great nutrition profile considering you’re not just getting tomatoes, onions and peppers, but also an earthy nut in pepitas…….…….

Pepita Salsa at Trader Joe’s
I love this pepita salsa not just for the unique taste and texture, but for the fact it barely has any sugar in it all, and no added sugars. I like to use this to top nachos I bake in the oven, or I’ve added a tiny bit to guacamole to mix it up a little. What is everyone’s favorite use for this trader Joe’s pepita salsa? Probably just dipping the Trader Joe’s tortilla chips in this is the best way to eat these! I’d love to hear what everyone’s favorite Trader Joe’s salsa is and what chips they pair with what salsa!?
