Trader Joe’s Ube Ice Cream, Purple Yam Flavored

This Trader Joe’s ube ice cream is incredibly smooth, with a bright purple color that has a subtle and unique sweetness to it from the ube (purple yam) that is used to make it. This is back for 2021, but has been a seasonal item the last few years. This isn’t the most dense or thick ice cream, so if you’re expecting the texture or consistency of super premium ice cream like Bean and Jerry’s, its definitely not that. But it does have a velvety smooth feel to it, and is very sweet in a unique way with the earthy and balanced ube flavor. I love this Trader Joe’s ube ice cream. The only issue is I end up eating the pint in a matter of minutes!…..…….

Ube Ice Cream at Trader Joe’s

I always know summer is approaching the last few years when I see this Trader Joe’s ube ice cream appear in the frozen aisle. I can never tell if I love this so much because it’s a fun purple color and is made with purple yams, or because I like the taste so much. The only small complaint I have is that it isn’t the thickest ice cream. But that’s probably more a result of the ube yams being used to make it than anything else. What does everyone think of this ube ice cream? Has anyone made the ube mochi pancakes and put a scoop of this on top?! And if you can’t make it out to TJs, give these items a try…..
