These organic Trader Joe’s steel cut oats have a really good hearty flavor, and absorb things like cream, butter or maple syrup really well. These shouldn’t be confused with the Trader Joe’s steel cut quick oats which take a lot less time and can also be microwaved. These take around 20 or 20 minutes to make but it’s super simple and it comes out as a deliciously mushy breakfast. You really just need to boil some water in a pot, add some of these steel cut oats and then simmer it for a good while. You can add fruit, half and half or anything else and the taste and texture is definitely worth the little extra time it takes to make this. Organic Steel Cut Oats at Trader Joe’s
There are so many delicious ways to make these steel cut oats into a legitimately healthy breakfast. I like to add some peaches to it and a little bit of whole milk. Sometimes I just go with butter and maple syrup. How does everyone like to eat their steel cut oats? Is there a really good sweet treat at Trader Joe’s that you usually add to your oats to make them almost taste like a breakfast dessert? I wonder if the Trader Joe’s cinnamon bun spread would work as a mix in with this. I’m imagining a buttery, cinnamon, oatmeal concoction that is like a Cinnabon oatmeal.
