Trader Joe’s Cowboy Caviar

Trader Joe’s Cowboy Caviar is a nice way to change it up from regular tomato based salsa. The beans and the corn mixture go really well on top of nachos or dipping hearty chips into. The taste isn’t the most explosively flavorful one I’ve ever had, but it is definitely a unique variation from dips I normally put chips with. Some of my friends love this stuff and put it on everything, including proteins and salads. I’m more in the camp of it goes great on my homemade nachos piled high with cheese and sour cream and guacamole, but I don’t love it for putting on my chicken or burgers………….

Cowboy Caviar Salsa from Trader Joe’s

What does everyone primarily use this on? I feel like I may be missing one of the best uses for this since it seems to be so popular but I can’t always find foods to use it with! The smokey peppery and corn combo really does go well together but I sometimes feel like it dominates whatever it’s paired with. And not always in a flavorful way. Has anyone had the juice from this kind of seep into other things you’re eating and it kind of has a permeating taste? OK, maybe that’s just me!

Let me know your favorite recipes to use this in or other condiment and sauces that you might mix this with to make a super fun creation. For now, I’ll just be dumping this on my nachos and eating my gooey cheese with the little pieces of corn sliding off of the chip. Is anything better than homemade crispy nachos made in the oven?…..
