It doesn’t have the most complex flavor, but it does the trick if you’re looking for a rich and soothing soup. Butternut squash can be really good when cooked correctly or incorporated into dishes, or it can be kind of gross and dominating in certain recipes. Butternut Squash Soup at Trader Joe’s
I started to try this soup more after the butternut squash mac and cheese piqued my interest again. What does everyone serve with this soup? Is it like a tomato soup where you can have a grilled cheese with it? I always associate squash with cold weather and winter but maybe that’s just because some squashes are around during Halloween. As good as this soup can be when you’re craving butternut squash, does anyone have really delicious homemade butternut squash recipes? I recently put a dollop of Trader Joe’s creme fraiche into my butternut squash soup and it was absolutely delicious. For some reason the way rich dairy absorbs into the richness of the soup is just a great combo. Has anyone added anything unexpected or unique to their butternut squash soup that was a taste revelation?! I love soup, but it’s the ultimate type of meal (or not a meal?) that lends itself to souping up the flavor and textures. Plus you have to love any soup that comes in a box instead of a boring can…..
