Trader Joe’s Turkey Bacon

Trader Joe’s turkey bacon is good…for turkey bacon. But the one thing they always say is, if it ain’t bacon, it ain’t bacon. This is far healthier than real bacon. It still smells and tastes good. But it doesn’t crisp the same way as bacon. And it certainly isn’t as flavorful. But it’s still one of the healthiest turkey bacons on the market when you look at the few ingredients. And Trader Joe’s turkey bacon is uncured and doesn’t have any nitrites. The price of $3.49 for 8 oz is actually more expensive than some brand name turkey bacon, but this is way higher quality with better ingredients. I’m happy for my friends that don’t eat pork that they can enjoy a good tasting replica of bacon. So don’t bother bemoaning the fact that this isn’t bacon. Instead be glad that there are so many options for non pork eaters, this being one of the healthier and better tasting ones………….

Trader Joe’s Uncured Turkey Bacon

If you had told me that you would be able to buy turkey bacon in pretty much any grocery store 10 years ago I wouldn’t have believed you. But there is definitely a market for it. It’s great that people who don’t eat pork can enjoy a bacon-like experience. I know that Trader Joe’s used to sell a thicker turkey bacon that I actually didn’t like as much because it really could not get crispy. This version of TJ’s turkey bacon is thinly sliced, allowing your skillet, microwave or regular oven to at least get a decent crisp on it. As always, let me know your favorite recipes that use turkey bacon!…..

Price: $3.99
