Trader Joe’s Tiramisu, Handmade in Italy

This Trader Joe’s tiramisu torte has been around in one form or another at TJ’s for years. It’s a good dessert that has a nice mascarpone cheese and cocoa flavor to it. The directions on the box say to leave it in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours before eating, but I usually just leave it on the counter for an hour or so. The one thing about these tiramisus is that they basically need to be eaten in one sitting. They don’t do well if you defrost it and then try and put it back in the freezer or even refrigerator. And they aren’t massively big so you should be able to eat the whole thing with 3 or 4 people. If you compare the ingredients in the Trader Joe’s tirmisu to other national brands that have a version of this, the TJ’s one is way, way healthier. It has real cream, mascarpone, eggs and coffee in it, so this may not be the most incredibly rich tasting dessert, but it is really good…….…….

Trader Joe’s Tiramisu Torte

I love all desserts, especially most of the ones in the frozen section at Trader Joe’s. I wouldn’t put this at the top of the list, but it’s a very solid standby. The problem is that there are so many amazing desserts to choose from at any given time, that unless one blows me away, I rarely buy it a lot. Right now my favorite frozen TJ’s dessert is the mini cheesecake cones. So so good and gooey and almondey and delicious. When I’m in the right mood, the macarons and lemon bars are not far behind! Does everyone serve this tiramisu only for special occasions because it feels fancy, or is this something you’d have on a random weeknight for a family dessert? And if you can’t make it out to TJs, give these items a try……
