I love this Trader Joe’s Tahini sauce. It is smooth and creamy, with a delicious nutty flavor. I find myself eating this out of the jar with a spoon. If you close your eyes, it almost tastes like cookie butter. OK, not really. But it is amazingly rich and flavorful. If you insist on not eating it directly out of the jar, you can put it on salads, falafel or even make a salad dressing out of it by adding things like garlic and lemon. The only ingredient in TJ’s tahini is ground hulled organic sesame seeds which makes it super nutrient dense. It does pack a lot of calories into a small jar. It feels like a real indulgence eating this since it is so rich and nutty tasting, but it’s also fairly priced at under $4 for over 10 oz of really high quality tahini. If you go to places like Whole Foods, you’ll pay a lot more for the equivalent organic tahini………….

Trader Joe’s Organic Tahini
This Trader Joe’s tahini has long been the gold standard for grocery store tahinis. Now TJ’s has added other tahini prodcuts in the refrigerated section like Herbed tahini which adds some spices and creaminess to it for a really delicious dip. What does everyone like to put tahini on? I have never used it as an ingredient in a recipe really, but is that something people do? I can imagine how rich and flavorful it would make a sauce. Let me know what flavors or meals tahini traditionally is paired with so I can give some recipes or combinations a try, and maybe create a unque new dip or dressing!
