As a rule, a lot of Trader Joe’s prepared foods can be hit or miss. TJ’s has had a few different variations of chicken salad over the years. This wine country chicken salad is among my favorites, even though it is definitely on the sweet side. It is so delicious that I usually just end up eating the entire 11.5 oz container in a sitting. With over 40 grams of sugar in the container, this definitely has a tad more sugar than you would think a Trader Joe’s chicken salad would have. But this is super convenient, tastes great, and goes on toast or on top of salads to provide a seemingly homemade creation………….

Trader Joe’s Chicken Salad Variations
There was a time I would only eat the Trader Joe’s curry chicken salad. It has such a nice kick to it that lingers in the back of your mouth, combined with a subtle sweetness. Plus I love curry. But on a whim I tried this wine country chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised. The Trader Joe’s Chinese chicken salad I have always really liked too, but sometimes you gotta mix it up! I think the best part about the Chinese chicken salad is that ginger sesame dressing that always comes with it! I’d love to know everyone’s favorite chicken salad from TJ’s. Also, do you have a favorite homemade chicken salad recipe? It seems like people can get really creative when mixing things into chicken salad since the eggs and mayo make every ingredient taste better! But if you are too lazy, just grab a container of this and a spoon. The container won’t seem so big once you start plowing through it!…..

Wine Country Chicken Salad. I should have read the label. Very disappointed. Used to have 2 gms of sugar. Now has 14 gms. WHY? Way too sweet.
Virginia,I agree that the amount of sugar is definitely a bummer for how small the container is. I love the taste of the Trader Joe’s wine country chicken salad, but wish the sugar could be limited!

Tried this for the first time today. One bite and I threw it away. It was sickly sweet. Wish I had seen the 14g of sugar before I bought it. Disgusting!
