Trader Joe’s Chicken Tikka Masala

Trader Joe’s Chicken Tikka Masala is definitely one of the best tasting frozen meals at TJ’s. The richness of the sauce and the good sized pieces of chicken are perfect. And the basmati rice under it is legit. As with all Trader Joe’s frozen meals, it’s probably not wise to eat them everyday, but this one is well worth the $3.99 price! I sometimes make this in the microwave and then heat up some garlic naan from the frozen section and dip the bread into this. I’ve tried making a pita out of the tikka masala and naan by putting the chicken into the naan folded over. No, don’t do this. There’s too much rich sauce goodness that overflows to make this worth it. Plus, doesn’t Trader Joe’s have chicken tikka masala burritos now?.…….

Chicken Tikka Masala Trader Joe’s

I can’t speak to how authentic this dish is but the cream sauce mixed with the cumin flavored rice is really delicious. Let me know what everyone’s favorite frozen Indian meal is. The Trader Joe’s butter chicken is one of my favorites. I haven’t had the vegan tikka masala but have heard that is really good too. I loooovve ordering Indian food takeout but it can be a tough food to package to go with all the sauces and different aspects of the dishes. Are there any Indian dishes that people would like to see in the frozen section at TJ’s that they get from restaurants a lot? I need to start making my way through the frozen food section at TJ’s and ranking my favorite meals. Stay tuned for a list of the best Trader Joe’s frozen meals coming soon!

  1. Why is there no country of origin on the chicken tikka masala? That’s very strange and perhaps illegal!

    1. I believe you are right! They also need to add more chicken and gravy to this dish. Even maybe less or no rice. Rice can always be made on the side.
