These Trader Joe’s black and white cookies, also known as half moon cookies, are a pretty decent version of the popular Jewish deli treat. A few different groceries have started to carry half moon cookies, but I think I prefer the Costco half moon cookies over this Trader Joe’s version. Obviously these don’t taste as fresh as ones you’d get at a New York deli, but they do the trick if you’re craving a half vanilla, half chocolate cookie! And of course if you’re a Seinfeld fan, you’ll remember the Seinfeld black and white cookie episode! In any case, these aren’t bad, but if you can get them fresher elsewhere, I probably would. ….…….

Trader Joe’s Black and White Cookies, Half Moon
As much as I love Trader Joe’s, the baked goods section is usually not my favorite aisle, mostly because it’s hard to have super tasty shelf stable cookies, brownies and other pastries without adding a ton of artificial ingredients and preservatives. And because TJs stays away from those additives, they are sort or working at a disadvantage in terms of taste. That being said, I do love the buttercream frosting cake and their kettle boiled bagels! If you’ve never tried half moon cookies, give these little Trader Joe’s cookies a shot, if for no other reason to say you ate the Seinfeld black and white cookie! If you can’t make it out to TJs, check out these items…..
