This Trader Joe’s farro is pre-cooked and like the name suggests, can be ready in (roughly) 10 minutes. Farro is an ancient grain popular in Italy and other parts of Europe. It can be cooked in about 30 minutes normally, but this TJ’s farro cuts that time down substantially. As the side of the bag suggests, you can either boil or simmer the pre-cooked farro. You can also add it to a hot soup and it will be ready to eat within 10 minutes. I have not tried much farro but this Trader Joe’s farro version has a nice chewy, nutty flavor to it. It really feels like you are eating something substantial, and it goes great in salads, soups or really any recipe you would use barley or rice in………….

Trader Joe’s 10 Minute Farro
What does everyone like to use this 10 minute farro in? A lot of my friends tell me that they plop this in their simmering soups like vegetable or minestrone, and it adds a really nice chewy and delicate depth of flavor to it. If anyone has any go to sauces or salads they pair farro with, let me know! Trader Joe’s farro is packed with fiber and iron, and is a tasty and unique way to make a salad or soup full of nutrients. If you are a vegan, I’d imagine you have had this as a side dish a time or two, and the pre-cooked ten minute farro makes it way easier on a random weeknight to help fill you up.
