Trader Joe’s Nespresso Pods

These Trader Joe’s Nespresso pods are made with Latin American and Sumatran beans, and are compatible with Nespresso machines that take pods. They come in Lungo and Ristretto varieties and are priced well under most stores with a 10 pack selling for under $4. The reviews are mixed on the taste of these Nespresso pods, but it seems to be that both the Lungo and the Ristretto shots are definitely drinkable. And they are well worth the money you save from snagging these at Trader Joe’s. These pods are often sold out at my local store, so it’s probably best to stock up if you see the shelves full of these little caffeine bombs!………….

Nespresso Pods at Trader Joe’s

The price and ease of use of these Nespresso pods is definitely tempting for people that make coffee in a regular old coffee pot or even with things like a Chemex pour over or Aeropress. The shots the Nespresso pod machine puts out are rich in color and generally have a depth of flavor with a good amount of caffeine. If you’re wondering what the best way to make coffee or espresso shots like this is, I prefer the Aeropress. You get barista quality espresso shots in seconds, without any machine or expensive piece of equipment.

But there is something to be said for how easy it is to make espresso shots with the Nespresso machine. And the fact they come in these little disposable pods with almost no cleanup is a huge benefit. What way of making coffee does everyone prefer? And if you’ve tried these Trader Joe’s Nespresso pods, how would you compare the taste and price to other national brands and stores that sell Nespresso compatible pods? I also like these options if you can’t make it to TJs in person…..

  1. I really enjoy these Nespresso Pods at TJ’s. The 10 pack is perfect for me because I don’t drink coffee everyday. It takes me about a month to go through the pack. I’m glad they carry the Lungo Espresso Capsules because it doesn’t have as much caffeine as some of the others

        1. I deconstructed both Woken and Trader Joe’s pods, and they look, feel, and break apart remarkably the same. But Woken wisely marketed their product as compostable (whether true or not), and Trader Joe’s did not (whether wisely or not). Until Trader Joe’s answers, I suppose the best way to know is to put them both through the composting process to see what happens over time.
