Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute

This Trader Joe’s 21 seasoning salute is a sort of Italian style tasting blend that has no salt or sodium. It seems to be somewhat of a healthier knockoff of Mrs. Dash, that little yellow bottle that’s in every grocery store. This has a nice taste to it with a bunch of random spices. It’s almost like spice roulette on each bite. The super interesting ingredients are onion spices (black pepper, celery seed, cayenne pepper, parsley, basil marjoram, bay leaf, oregano, thyme, savory, rosemary, cumin, mustard coriander), garlic, carrot, orange peel, tomato granules, lemon juice powder, oil of lemon and citric acid………….

Trader Joe’s 21 Salute Seasoning

This is a perfect spice to use when you’re trying to watch your sodium intake for high blood pressure. It has such an interesting mix of spices without having any salt, that you won’t get sick of the taste of this. There are some interesting recipes using this, like this Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute Vinaigrette, which is supposed to be delicious. Does anyone have any great recipes they use this TJs no salt spice in? I usually put this on chicken or fish, but I’m sure people have some unique and creative ways they use 21 seasoning when they are trying to make a healthy dish still taste delicious!

I’ve been trying to sample all the different spices that Trader Joe’s has at any given time, but because there are so many I end up usually getting overwhelmed and just using my two or three go tos! As much as I like Everything But the Bagel Seasoning, I think the various items using that have officially jumped the shark. Check out these other options if you can’t make it to TJs….

  1. I had to stop using salt due to high BP. And some foods just need a bit of salt, you know, like eggs. I have used 21 Seasoning Salute on my eggs, on salad, baked potato and it’s really great stuff.

  2. Peel and cut organic carrots. Toss with extra virgin olive oil and Trader Joe’s 21 Season Salute. Roast for an hour at 400 degrees. YUMMY!!
