This Trader Joe’s kibbeh is basically a deep fried stuffed meatball, with strong Middle Eastern tastes from the beef inside and a good crunchy fried texture on the outside. If you like heavy foods, beef and Middle Eastern flavors, this will be right up your alley. Amazingly there’s only 100 calories per meatball, partially due to the fact Trader Joe’s has made them fairly small. You can apparently boil these, but I made them in the oven and they formed a pretty decent crispy exterior and have a good taste overall. I probably wouldn’t buy them again since the flavors aren’t my favorite, but I know this is a super popular Middle Eastern dish, so it’s cool that TJs now carries this ………….

Trader Joe’s Kibbeh Stuffed Meatballs
This is another Trader Joe’s frozen meal in the long line of ethnic cuisine that TJs has introduced over the years. I dipped some of this in tzatziki sauce and it was a great way to get a cooling and tangy taste to go with the heavy, deep fried meatballs. According to Trader Joe’s, you can also try tahini or zhoug sauce with these little stuffed meatballs. What is everyone’s favorite ethnic frozen dish at Trader Joe’s? I bought the stuffed kibbeh, along with some naan bread. I had some tzatziki so I made a sandwich with all of the food. It was good but didn’t need the fried exterior. One unexpected and unpleasant side effect is that I reeked of the Kibbeh for days. The next 2 sandwiches I made with the kibbeh, I removed the fried dough shell and ate the beef in naan bread with tzatziki. I didn’t reek of kibbeh as much but man, the spices really affected my body since I can smell the spices on me for a good week. Very odd. Delicious but I won’t but the kibbeh again.
