This Trader Joe’s cookie dough makes 16 cookies that have a nice chocolate flavor with small little chunks of chocolate. They don’t taste exactly like traditional chocolate chip cookies, maybe because they have molasses or chocolate liquor in them. I’m not exactly sure what is different about these, but they are kind of a nice riff on traditional chunky chocolate chip cookies. These don’t have massive chunks of chocolate chips, but when you bake them they have a pleasant almost dark chocolaty flavor and are gooey and delicious. Also, these are chocolate chip cookies made with cookie dough, so there is no possible way they could be awful. That’s not possible when you put cookie dough in the oven and bake it! But they are a tad different than traditional chocolate chip cookies………….

Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
There are so many types of cookies at Trader Joe’s that you could probably eat a different one everyday for weeks before getting sick of the selection. But in terms of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough, this is the one TJs option. How does everyone compare the taste of these to regular national brands like Pillsbury or Toll House? Its hard to put your finger on the difference but I kind of like the slightly unique taste these have. Has anyone added these to other treats from Trader Joe’s for a blowout dessert combination?! I have had Trader Joe’s ice cream plopped on top of a few of these, usually french vanilla flavored. The only thing about these is the dough is not edible, which so many brands are now doing because of the recent trend of edible cookie dough. But I’m sure Trader Joes will have that sooner or later too! Check out these other options if you can’t make it to TJs….
