Trader Joe’s Hummus with Chocolate

This Trader Joe’s chocolate hummus is an interesting mix of savory and sweet flavors that looks like brownie batter but tastes like regular hummus with hints of chocolate and sweetness. If you’re one of those people that doesn’t like mixing cheddar popcorn with caramel corn, this will definitely not be your favorite Trader Joe’s hummus variety. This is a cool concept and is a good value at under $2 for an 8 ounce tub, but I don’t love the combination of sesame seed taste coupled with the cocoa and chocolate. I feel like this is as healthy and good tasting a version of this combo that you could make, but the flavor profile is tough for me to get over. You may as well give this a shot though just to say you tried this odd combo!………….

Chocolate Hummus at Trader Joe’s

Instead of adding things like eggplant and garlic to this hummus like you normally would, TJs used sugar, cocoa and natural flavors to create this tub of brownie batter looking hummus. I am very curious to hear if everyone likes this or they can’t stand it?! I don’t think you could eat this routinely but it would be a good thing to put out if you’re having a party for a conversation starter. Trader Joe’s suggests dipping things like strawberries, apple, pretzels or graham crackers in this chocolate hummus, so you never know what interesting combo might be the perfect taste. In any case, Trader Joe’s hummus is always a great deal and tastes good, so give this weird one a shot if you haven’t tried it yet just to feel like you aren’t missing out!…..
