This Trader Joe’s french onion soup has a really rich and oniony taste and is super easy to microwave. It takes a good while to melt it all since they come in little frozen chunky hockey pucks. But I usually just put it in a big mug and it comes out hot with the delicious cheese on top melted into it. It’s not the best french onion soup I’ve ever had, and each serving isn’t a massive amount, but it gets the job done. I usually like to melt some more cheese into the soup to make it extra cheesey, like the Trader Joe’s Gruyere or the cheddar Gruyere melange. Keep in min there’s also now Trader Joe’s french onion soup bites in the frozen section. Those take a lot less time to cook than this soup does, and are more of an appetizer than a full meal…..…….

Frozen Trader Joe’s Soup
I love a good old fashioned crock of french onion soup with the melted and crusted cheese clinging to the side of the bowl. There is nothing better at a restaurant when they bring that out and you know you’ll be peeling the cheese off the sides for the first five minutes. That’s not really possible with this soup, but if you have the craving for french onion soup and you don’t have time to make your own, this will do. What are everyone’s favorite soup recipes to make? I’d love to know if people have a go to french onion soup recipe they make and maybe a healthier soup that they whip up regularly. I’ve always loved a good soup, whether its’ rich and hearty for the winter or light and delicious for the summer! Here are a few other french onion soup options if you can’t make it to TJs in person…..
