This Trader Joe’s cottage cheese is small curd, made from 4% milkfat minimum, and has a nice smooth and tangy flavor to it. There is a number of different versions of cottage cheese at Trader Joe’s, but this is one of the old standbys. They now have whole milk cottage cheese and pineapple cottage cheese among others. In general the dairy at TJs is usually quality and good tasting. I like to put this on saltines or just eat it right out of the container, although I know some people even like mixing it with the Trader Joe’s manuka honey. I have never cooked with it but there are a variety of recipes that call for cottage cheese in different sauces and stews…….…….

Cottage Cheese at Trader Joe’s
What is everyone’s favorite way to use this small curd cottage cheese from Trader Joes? I’d imagine there are a number of different rich and heavy recipes that call for this. Because Trader Joes has so many different good crackers and crisps, is there a go to cracker that you would put this on? I bet the little Trader Joe’s raisin rosemary crisps would be amazing with this plopped on top. Sounds like a good after school snack or adult late night snack! The ingredients in this cottage cheese are listed as cultured pasteurized nonfat milk, pasteurized milk, pasteurized cream, sea salt, stabilizer (nonfat milk, locust bean gum, agar) and carbon dioxide (to maintain freshness). If anyone only buys the organic cottage cheese or vice versa, is there much of a taste difference or is it mainly the organic part that leads you to paying a bit more?…..
