Trader Joe’s Collagen Hydrolysate

This Trader Joe’s collagen powder is a relatively new item. It’s made by Great Lakes Gelatin Co. and supposedly helps bone and joint health and helps make your skin healthier. I can’t vouch for any of those claims since I’ve never tried this. But you can add this to your smoothies, soups or any other recipe you’d like. Collagen is found naturally in bones, skin and cartilage according to the packaging. The only ingredient is hydrolyzed collagen and it has about 45 calories per serving. So if you think this will help your cell function and gut health among other health benefits this claims to have, go for it. The price of $9.99 is a better value than at most of the health food stores that offer this collagen…….…….

  • Grass fed and pasture raised
  • Net Weight: 7 oz
  • Better sleep and workout recovery are among the health claims

Trader Joe’s Collagen Powder, Grass fed and Pasture Raised

There is a growing number of people that swear by this stuff. They say it provides myriad health benefits. And the ease of which it can be added to any drink or food recipe since it is in powder form also helps its popularity. If anyone has any thoughts on the effectiveness of collagen or this particular brand of collagen powder that Trader Joe’s sells, let me know.. I’ll be interested to hear more about a product I am not super familiar with. This collagen can be found in the vitiamin and supplement section of TJ’s, usually near the fish oil and omega 3 bottles. Can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of this. You’d think this brand would be reliable since it’s been vetted by the Trader Joe’s team, so if you were to give any brand a shot, this would be it! I also like these collagen powders if you cant make it to TJs in person……

  1. I will let you know. I just bought this product and this my 5th day. Working great in coffee, tea, juice and smoothies. I love there is no taste to it and dissolves wonderful. Keep you posted.

  2. This is great stuff. I put it in my coffee every morning & it dissolves easily. I don’t even notice a difference in taste. I’ve tried several other brands, but I think I like this one the best. It helps out with my arthritis as I’ve gotten older

    1. That’s awesome to hear Julie! The fact that Trader Joe’s collagen powder seems to be helping with your soreness is amazing. The Great Lakes Gelatin collagen brand is for sure one of the more dissolvable brands out there. Glad you like it!

  3. Great product for your skin, you will see the difference in a few weeks. It does have some smell/ taste but dissolves well in your coffee or just small amount of warm water so you can swallow quick.

  4. I’ve tried a few different ones and love this one the most. It really does dissolve quickly versus others – I don’t smell it when it’s mixed in my lattes. I don’t taste it either. Doesn’t add any substance or thickness… wouldn’t know it’s in my latte honestly. Another perk is the price! I think $8.99 a can and comes with the scoop. Only ingredient is the collagen. Try it!

  5. Woohoo! Great Lakes has been around for some time and this is an excellent product. Have been ordering direct from their website for years and STOKED to see TJs now carries it! 🙂 Awesome.

  6. Golly, I started buying this collagen product at Trader Joe’s in 2010, so I can attest to how long it’s been available there. I’ve tried other collagen powders but come back to this one time and again for effectiveness and cost.

  7. I have been trying it for a week and really like it! I have been using another popular brand for years that is triple the price. I am going to stick to this one- I feel great!

  8. Hi There! The nearest Trader Joe’s is in Atlanta about an hour and a half away (well until ours opens here in the fall sometime). I’m so mad at myself for not buying more! I have awful Arthritis flareups when rain is coming and on rainy days. I’ve been taking this collagen for about 10 days and just realized that my arthritis didn’t flare up this week and it’s been pouring. What a blessing! I may have to drive down to ATL just to purchase more! 🙂

    1. I, too, wish there was a Trader Joe’s closer to me. The nearest ones to me are in the Ann Arbor vicinity 4 hours south of me in Northern Michigan (ironically by the Great Lake Huron). I immediately noticed it made my fingernails stronger. Next time when I visit downstate, I will buy a six month supply. Prices on Amazon are two to three times higher.

  9. I purchased this product because I needed to add collagen to my daily routine and it works well…I add it to my green tea every morning and it has no taste and dissolves easily. I’m 42 and working to have a group of products to fight against wrinkles and crows feet! It’s also very cost effective!
