This Trader Joe’s coconut aminos seasoning sauce is a good gluten free alternative to soy sauce with a slightly less salty, umami and sweet flavor to it. This definitely won’t convince you that you’re having real soy sauce, but it does act as a nice complement to sauteed vegetables or other dishes that call for an umami sweetness. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly the taste of this, but I think it does a fairly good job of mimicking soy sauce for folks that are gluten free or looking for a paleo alternative. I can’t really see a reason to use this over tamari or soy sauce unless you’re gluten free, but it’s a good value at under $3 compared to other natural grocers that sell this………….

Organic Coconut Aminos Seasoning Sauce at Trader Joe’s
This organic seasoning sauce comes from the fermented sap of the coconut blossom, and is a lot less salty than soy sauce. I don’t have much experience using this in cooking, but if you know how to use this I feel like it could be really useful. How does everyone use this in recipes or dishes? I’m also curious to know how people would describe the taste of this, especially compared to soy sauce. The great news is if you are gluten free and looking for a good and unique tasting sauce to use, this fits the bill. Just remember it has a decent amount of sugar in it, which can be good for adding to dishes, but easy to forget since this is gluten free and organic.
