This Trader Joe’s chocolate milk is rich, thick and and decadent tasting. It’s made with whole milk and cocoa, which really comes through to provide a subtle sweetness. Things have come a long way since the days we used to drink things like Chocolate YooHoo! This is perfect to drink by the glass of course, but it also provides a really nice thickening base for smoothies and milkshakes. This Trader Joe’s chocolate milk isn’t quite as super sweet as a lot of the national brands chocolate milk, but that’s a good thing. If you’re used to drinking regular old chocolate milk, you will love the thick and creamy texture of this. Now if I could can only limit myself to just one glass a day………….

Chocolate Whole Milk with Fair Trade Cocoa
Trader Joe’s dairy products are generally a good value and lack a lot of the unhealthy ingredients than a lot of brands have. This has the usual milk, cocoa powder and sugar as ingredients but it also has natural flavors. This is always a tough one for me because presumably ‘natural’ flavors are way healthier than artificial flavors that are in some chocolate milk, but its still a sort of grey area. Either way, this is a good value at a price under $4. What is everyone’s favorite use for this in recipes? I’d love to know a go to smoothie someone has created using this rich chocolate milk as the base. I wonder if you can freeze this in popsicle makers and make like frozen chocolate bars out of it. Is that even a thing? A chocolate malt or milkshake is definitely a thing…..
