This Trader Joe’s Channa Masala is an Indian pantry staple, and is a good medium spicy, simmered dish with chickpeas, onions, tomatoes and various spices. It’s got a good kick to it, and is super easy to pop in the microwave for under 5 minutes. At under $3 for 10 ounces, this is a decent value compared to other Trader Joe’s frozen Indian dishes. This is a great option for vegetarians that love the spices and flavors of Indian food. I love making this and dipping some Trader Joe’s naan in it. It’s the perfect way to sop up all the spicy deliciousness while having an excuse to heat up the incredibly tasty garlic or regular naan bread. This may not be the most authentic version, but it’s easy to make and a good value………….

Channa Masala at Trader Joe’s
Chana masala is traditionally simmered on a stove top, but this TJs version really is a nice frozen version. Unless you are vegan or vegetarian, I would probably buy the Trader Joe’s butter chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala first. But this is a good way to try Indian food and see if you like some of the classic flavors and spices. What is everyone’s favorite bread or side dish to make this Chana Masala with? I know that naan is so perfect with this, that I can’t imagine any other bread or side being better! Let me know your favorite frozen Indian dishes at Trader Joe’s. There are so many that it can be hard to keep track when new ones come out! Plus, the amount of canned and pouches of Indian spices and dishes have also increased at TJ’s lately!…..
